Later rounds and rest limit the finish; another playing area does not shorten this draw. This is a workable estimate, not a guaranteed shortest schedule.
Team count, names, sport and format carry into the bracket. Court timing, rest and break settings stay in this estimate.

How long does an eight-team tournament take?
For single elimination with 20-minute matches and five minutes between games, this calculator estimates 70 minutes with four playing areas or 95 minutes with two. Longer rest, setup and breaks add time.
Why not divide all match minutes by the number of courts?
Later matches must wait for earlier winners. Teams also need time between games. A spare court cannot start a final before its finalists are known.
How many matches are in double elimination?
With standard deciding-final rules, eight entries play 14 or 15 matches. A first-final win by the one-loss finalist requires another match. Byes are not counted as played matches.
Will the generator use these exact court times?
No. The estimate provides a match order for planning. The bracket stores matchups and results; the league schedule maker assigns weekly dates. Court timing, rest and breaks remain in this calculator.
